www.sciencemag.org SCIENCE VOL 323 13 FEBRUARY 2009 843 COVER An image of Mare Moscoviense on the lunar farside, taken by the Terrain Camera aboard the SELENE (Kaguya) spacecraft on 17 January 2008. Crater frequency distributions derived from such images yield ages of about 2.5 billion years for several volcanic deposits in this mare, indicating that volcanism on the lunar farside lasted about 500 million years longer than previously thought. See page 905.

Using an Evaluator Fixed Structure Learning Automata in Sampling of Social Networks
Social networks are streaming, diverse and include a wide range of edges so that continuously evolves over time and formed by the activities among users (such as tweets, emails, etc.), where each activity among its users, adds an edge to the network graph. Despite their popularities, the dynamicity and large size of most social networks make it difficult or impossible to study the entire networ...
متن کاملA Note on the Importance of Collaboration Graphs
Numerous challenging problems in graph theory has attracted the attention and imagination of researchers from physics, computer science, engineering, biology, social science and mathematics. If we put all these different branches one into basket, what evolves is a new science called “Network Science”. It calls for a solid scientific foundation and vigorous analysis. Graph theory in general and ...
متن کاملComparison of the Social Impact of Review Articles with Original Re-search Articles Indexed in the Web of Science in Pharmacy, Biology, Psy-chology, and Agriculture fields
Background and Aim: The last two decades have witnessed efforts to identify ways and tools of showing the value of science for society known as the social impact of science, the efforts that have been made under various titles such as social benefits, social quality, social utility, social relevance, and so on. Academic publications, especially academic articles, are objective representation of...
متن کاملMeasuring respiratory health in longitudinal social science surveys.
Objectively assessing respiratory health in longitudinal social science surveys would involve collecting pulmonary function measures on research participants, either in clinic settings or at home. These measures include indicators of volume (e.g., maximal amount of air blown in the first second of a forced exhalation) and airflow (maximal speed air is exhaled during a forced exhalation). Equipm...
متن کاملNonapeptides and the Evolution of Social Group Sizes in Birds
Species-typical patterns of grouping have profound impacts on many aspects of physiology and behavior. However, prior to our recent studies in estrildid finches, neural mechanisms that titrate species-typical group-size preferences, independent of other aspects of social organization (e.g., mating system and parental care), have been wholly unexplored, likely because species-typical group size ...
